Preston T. Bowling Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is offered specifically to students that are graduating from high schools in Milam and Robertson counties.  The scholarship is to attend Texas State University at the main campus in San Marcos, Texas and can be renewed for four years.  Below is the qualifying criteria:
 
*Recipient should be a graduate from a high school in Milam or Robertson counties
*Recipient must be enrolled to become certified in the teaching profession for grades K-12

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars' (VFW) premier scholarship program. Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)
Free Speech Student Essay Contest
Scholarship prizes will be awarded as follows: One student will receive a $10,000 first prize, One student will receive a $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes. Four students will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

 

Emory Scholars Program
Emory Scholar awards span four years of undergraduate study and range from 2/3 tuition to full-tuition, room, board, and fees. Equitable Excellence Scholarship

In alignment with Equitable’s own mission of helping people achieve financial security so that they can face the future with confidence, the Equitable Excellence Scholarship places an emphasis on empowering students’ future plans so that they can continue to have positive impacts in their community. Walmart Dependent Scholarship Program
To be eligible applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
A) Must be a U. S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States
B) Must be the dependent of a Walmart associate (employee) who has been actively employed within and division of Walmart for at least six consecutive months as of April 2, 2018.
C) Must be a high school (or home school) senior graduating between August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018 or a GED candidate earning his or her diploma between August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018.
D) Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 on a 4-point scale (high school/home school seniors).

Texas Women’s University normally does not permit first year Freshmen or Sophomore students to live off campus. The University of North Texas restricts Freshmen from living off-campus as well. $1,000.00 career education award available to recent high school graduates pursuing post secondary education at career colleges across the United States. Students must have a 2.5 GPA, demonstrated voluntary community service, and financial need. Visit with the College Recruiter for more details.

Scholarships for Individuals with Learning Disabilities

Bank of America Abilities Scholarship Program
Scholarships awarded to students with disabilities and have a permanent residence in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia , Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, new Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
